Digital signage can be described as a multimedia strategy system designed to help communicate and respond to our client’s market place while driving their sales. For all intensive purposes digital signage is one or more electronic displays that can be used to show marketing/advertising content, menus, company/product information, text tickers or virtually any other information wished to be conveyed.  From simple staff birthday announcements to a tailor made means of brand engagement and marketing, digital signage is an acute and highly effective means of articulation.  Incorporate everything from basic text, live television or fully customized brand recognition.  This form of communication will attract customers with compelling marketing messages and adapt on the fly targeted content delivery.
 
  The physical components typically consist of display screens, media players and a content management server.  The server may be hosted on site or at a remote location.  Displays may be LCD, Plasma or LED.  Software selection and application varies depending on the content being portrayed.  Hardware and software combinations may be paired to exhibit a wide variety of desired results.   A simple solution would be a non-networked standalone media player that can output basic JPEG slide shows or loops of MPEG-2 video to a single display.  The other end of the spectrum is a complex network consisting of multiple players and servers that offer real time data manipulation and control over enterprise-wide displays at many venues from a single location.   Whether it is a single display put to use in a restaurant to display a menu or a series of full video walls comprised of multiple displays the goal is the same.  Better message conveyance at the point of decision.
